How can I make this thesis paragraph be better?
Every family needs a father figure. Tobias Wolff’s memoir, This Boy’s Life, has a recurring theme of desire and determination for self-recreation. Wolff illustrates a boy’s (Toby) struggle to find himself and a mother in search of financial stability and a complete family. From the beginning Toby is resentful toward his mother for leaving his father and moving them around, the conflict mainly begins when she marries his stepfather who he doesn't get along with. At the same time he's also has a close bond with her and is afraid of losing her love. This memoir can be related to the Oedipus complex.
