Our school is starting a dance team next year?

Two teachers got together and wanted to start a team and the school approved it, we have tryouts in the fall, and im really nervous! i did ballet and jazz for 2 years, a couple of years ago, so i know how to dance. im also in the color guard at school ,and we do lots and lots of turns and jumps so im pretty good on that. the only problem is that i knew a couple of girls older than me, and they have TON of experience, and their kind of mean, so i feel like they'll judge me during tryouts. since this is the first year their doing dance team, do you think it will be that hard to get in? what can i do to prepare myself?? we aren't competing next year either.
