Should i try out for football next year?

In my 7th grade year i played one game and quit because of family stuff going on at home. I really love the game of football! But im worried people are gonna make fun of me and call me a quiter if i show up to tryouts next year. I really love football and would die without it i now have the family stuff straightend out and can commit to it now... What should i do?
