How to build up my stamina for running 3 miles with ease?

I'm trying out for college baseball and the tryouts consist of running at least two miles and then followed by sprints after. Right now my mile and 1/2 time is 10:20 and i want to get alot better. Basically i want to know how should i run and when? Two miles in the morning and two at night?
